Multiple events for all ages are coming up this weekend in Craig and Hayden, and here’s a guide to make sure you don’t miss any.

The horror …

The second annual Hayden Hall of Horrors will run through Oct. 27 at Routt County Fairgrounds in Hayden with live scare actors and animatronics alike offering fun frights.

Organizers with Sassquatch Party Rentals are partnering with area nonprofits and clubs for the event, with groups receiving a percentage of the profits from each night.

Hours of operation are 6-9 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 6-10 p.m. for the weekend.

Autumn art

Northwest Colorado Arts Council will host Tiny Art, Big Heart, an event for kids and families to make fall art projects for all ages. The event will be held at Articulture, on the second floor of the Yampa Building, 775 Yampa Ave.

Besides displaying an array of specifically small submissions, the show will also have activities for those in attendance. Kids can put together their seasonal art with the help of local artists and then take them home.

Each project costs $3 to $6, and hot apple cider will be available free of charge.

Have a ball

The inaugural Halloween Ball hosted by Advocates-Crisis, Trauma, and Survivor Services runs from 5-10 p.m. Saturday at Center of Craig, 601 Yampa Ave.

The event includes live music, a costume contest, a silent auction, and dinner with specialty cocktails.

The new event serves as a fundraiser for ACTSS, which provides 24/7 crisis response and long-term care to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and other serious crimes.

The evening will include a DJ and dancing, a bake sale, food and drinks and a costume contest with prizes. All ages are welcome.

Showtime …

The Hayden Youth Action Council will host its inaugural event with a screening of the original movie “Beetlejuice” 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Hayden Center. The event for students ages 12 to 18 will include free popcorn and drinks, goodie bags and gift card giveaways.

Nature’s candy

Yampa River State Park will host its seventh annual Hike or Treat from 1-3p.m. Saturday at 6185 U.S. Highway 40 outside of Hayden.

The Halloween Hike is a trick-or-treat loop along the 1.25-mile nature trail, and all ages are welcome to suit up in their costume.

Admission is free, but hikers are asked to contribute a non-perishable food item to donate to LiftUp of Routt County. Donations will be accepted at the Visitor Center and at the Group Picnic Area.

LiftUp is also on the lookout for household essentials such as personal care and baby care items, cleaners, and paper supplies. For more information on needed items, visit liftuprc.org/ways-to-give/donate-food/ or call 970-879-3374.

The event will last as long as the candy supply does. Those interested in volunteering or donating treats can call 970-276-2061.
