Letter to the Editor: Your support impacts a girl for life
Letter to the Editor
In this season of generosity, I invite our mountain and Western Slope communities to join me in making a real difference in the lives of girls who need it most.
The Cycle Effect’s mission is simple but profound: to empower girls through mentorship and mountain biking, reserving resources for participants who identify as Latina, BIPOC and low-income.
As a Team Manager for Liv’s professional cycling teams, I witness the ways in which mountain biking is about so much more than just athleticism — it’s about belonging to a team and a community. It instills lifelong coping strategies to overcome obstacles. For the girls The Cycle Effect serves, biking is a gateway to a future filled with possibility and hope.
This holiday season, I urge you to consider a donation that will change a life.
We see the impact in action every day – the girl who once lacked confidence, now racing to the finish line, a smile on her face and pride in her heart. The young woman who was unsure of her future, now setting goals and working toward them with determination.
The Cycle Effect isn’t just about teaching girls to ride bikes; it’s about teaching them to dream big, to persevere and to lead.
This giving season, your contribution will help girls find the courage to chase those dreams. You can ensure that they not only have equitable access to mountain biking, but are given the opportunity to ride toward a brighter future right here in our community.
On behalf of The Cycle Effect Board of Directors and our courageous participants, thank you for considering a gift that makes a lasting impact. Together, we can turn hope into action and build a foundation on which our riders can thrive for life.
You can donate now at TheCycleEffect.org.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Elizabeth Walker
