Red Dirt country fundraiser concert in Craig to Kick the Winter Blues

The community is invited to Kick the Winter Blues at a benefit concert for the nonprofit Advocates-Crisis Trauma Survivor Services in Craig scheduled for 7-11:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 10 at Yampa Valley Brewing Co. in Craig.

Advocates, or ACTSS, is marking one year as a standalone nonprofit in need of community support as the organization served more than 2,500 people during 2024. Fundraiser tickets are available for $50 online at ACTSS.org. The event will include door prizes, appetizers and one free drink per ticket holder for an evening of music, reflection and collective resilience.

The concert will feature Red Dirt country music artist Chuck Briseno, who is in Yampa Valley as part of the huge MusicFest in Steamboat. Briseno is a songwriter hailing from a small south Texas town, an Afghanistan veteran, engineer and touring musician. More information is available on the Facebook page ChuckBrisenoBand.

The event will feature a Remembrance Wall, a tribute to honor those lost to suicide within the community as a reminder of the importance of connection and support in times of need.

Formerly known as Open Hearts Advocates, the renamed nonprofit has provided essential support in Northwest Colorado since 1978 to people experiencing crime, violence and trauma.

ACTSS offers a 24-hour crisis hotline at 970-824-2400 that can provide on-scene community response dispatch within 20 minutes to Moffat and Rio Blanco counties, and can assist in Routt and others counties as requested and available.
